In the digital age, smartphones and social media have become deeply woven into the daily lives of teenagers. Such technology, however, is a double-edged sword, bringing both benefits and drawbacks. On the positive side, technology grants teenagers unprecedented access to information and global connection. Not only can they communicate with friends across the world instantly, but they can also learn new skills through online courses, ranging from coding to foreign languages. On the negative side, excessive use of social media often leads to decreased attention spans and even anxiety, as teenagers constantly compare their lives with the seemingly perfect ones portrayed online. Were I asked to give advice to my peers, I would urge them to use technology with discipline rather than let it control their lives. Specifically, setting a fixed time limit for social media each day and turning off notifications during study hours can help maintain balance. Only by using technology wisely can teenagers truly enjoy its benefits while avoiding its pitfalls.

倒裝句(假設語氣省略if)Were I asked to give advice to my peers, I would urge them to use technology with discipline

If I were asked to give advice..., I would urge them...,但在正式寫作中可以把if省略、將were移到句首,形成倒裝語氣句。 Were I in your shoes, I would choose to apologize first.(如果我是你,我會先道歉。)

Not only...but also 倒裝強調句Not only can they communicate with friends across the world instantly, but they can also learn new skills through online courses

學生套用時要記得:Not only + 倒裝, but also + 正常語序,例如:Not only did she finish her homework, but she also helped her brother with his.

分詞構句(原因/伴隨狀況)as teenagers constantly compare their lives with the seemingly perfect ones portrayed online

I was moved by the story told by my grandmother.(被奶奶所說的故事感動)

Only by + Ving 倒裝句(強調句型)Only by using technology wisely can teenagers truly enjoy its benefits while avoiding its pitfalls

Teenagers can only enjoy its benefits by using technology wisely Only by working together can we solve this problem.(唯有合作,我們才能解決這個問題。)

Globalization is often described as a double-edged sword.
