In recent years, online learning has become increasingly popular, offering an alternative to traditional classroom instruction. Each mode of learning, however, comes with its own strengths and weaknesses. The greatest advantage of online learning lies in its flexibility. Students can study at their own pace, pausing or replaying lectures whenever necessary, which is particularly beneficial for those juggling schoolwork with part-time jobs or family responsibilities. Traditional classrooms, by contrast, though less flexible in schedule, provide something online platforms rarely can: immediate interaction. Not only can students ask questions on the spot, but they can also build friendships and learn teamwork through face-to-face discussion. Were I to choose between the two, I would opt for traditional classroom learning. What matters most to me is not merely acquiring knowledge but also developing social skills and staying motivated through direct supervision. Learning alongside classmates, after all, makes the process far more engaging than staring at a screen alone.
If I were to choose between the two, I would opt for...,但在正式或書面英文中,可以把 if 省略,並將 were 提到主詞前面,形成倒裝,變成 Were I to choose...。 If I had to choose, I would choose..., Were I given a chance to travel abroad, I would choose Japan without hesitation。
文法規則:當 Not only 放在句首以強調語氣時,後面的子句必須採用「助動詞/be動詞+主詞」的倒裝語序,也就是 Not only can students...(而不是 Not only students can...)。 Students can ask questions and also build friendships,倒裝版本語氣更強烈、更正式,能展現考生對於特殊句型的掌握度,是學測作文閱卷老師特別青睞的加分句型。 Not only does recycling reduce waste, but it also saves natural resources。
Students can study at their own pace, and they can pause or replay lectures whenever necessary,但改寫成分詞構句後更精簡流暢。 She finished her homework, feeling relieved afterward。
Public transportation is eco-friendly; driving, by contrast, offers greater convenience。
